About

Dr. Ashok Seth is awarded Padma Bhushan for the year 2015. He is one of the proficient and renowned Indian Cardiologists in the World. He is the chairman of Cardiac Sciences at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi. He is an expert Interventional Cardiologist with an experience of over 20 years pioneering a number of angioplasty techniques in India and Asia Pacific region. He has been one of the youngest overseas doctors to be awarded the Fellowship of all the three Royal Colleges of London, Edinburg, and Ireland in 1995.
 
Dr. Ashok has performed over 50,000 angiograms and 20,000 angioplasties in his career and has also been recognized in “Limca Book of Records”. He is the first cardiologist in Asia Pacific to perform Directional Coronary Atherectomy, Stents, including Drug Eluting Stents and use of Impella heart support device to treat heart blockages. He is known to be the first cardiologist in Asia to perform Angioscopy and Angiojet Thrombectomies and one of the few cardiologists in the world to perform Percutaneous Myocardial Laser Revascularization.
